Light filtering through grass and leaves,
Warm sunlight falling on my face
And gently floating on the breeze,
The scent of hay and Queen Anne’s lace.
Seeing branches casting shadows,
watching swallows in graceful flight
and grass catching the sun’s warm glow,
my heart is filled with pure delight.
I can’t believe how time just flies
The robin sings his goodnight song,
now I too must say my goodbyes,
and like him I must move along.
