Sun stands high in the sky, many hours before setting,
hot where it strikes my skin, hardly a cloud to hide me.
A soft, cool breeze caresses my face, refreshing
and bringing me the scent of a sweet perfume.
In a hedge hiding under a lilac sibling,
bright white blossoms are scented of orange water.
A cheering sight, picking me up after work
like a good, gentle friend.
Green leaves rustle in the soft breeze, waving me onward,
asking that I remember next June it’ll be there.
To share it’s sweet perfume and cheery white blossoms
hiding under its lilac sibling.

Beautifully written Heather. Felt like I was there in the sun enjoying the scented breeze. Keep writing!
